London ULEZ Scrappage Scheme – Supporting a Greener Future

The London ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) Scrappage Scheme has been launched to help tackle air pollution in the capital. The scheme allows eligible owners of pre-Euro 4 petrol or diesel cars, vans, and minibusses to receive £2,000 towards the purchase of a new, ultra-low emission vehicle. The initiative is part of the Mayor of London’s wider plan to improve air quality in the capital and reduce nitrogen dioxide (NO2) levels.

The London ULEZ scrappage scheme applies to vehicles registered before 1st January 2006 and is available to both private and business owners. All new vehicles purchased through the scheme must meet ULEZ standards and be registered after 1st April 2019. Eligible vehicle owners will be able to apply for the scheme in two ways; either through the manufacturer’s own scrappage schemes or through the Mayor of London’s scheme.

The Mayor of London’s scheme is expected to provide support to over 20,000 vehicle owners across London. The initiative is part of a larger effort to reduce air pollution in the capital and support the transition to zero emission transport. By replacing older vehicles with new, ultra-low-emission ones, the scheme is expected to result in a significant reduction in air pollution.

The London ULEZ Scrappage Scheme is an important initiative to reduce air pollution in the capital, and is a step in the right direction towards creating a greener future. The scheme is expected to reduce the number of older, more polluting vehicles on London roads, and make a real difference to air quality in the city. The scheme is open to all residents and businesses in the capital, and is a great way to support the transition to zero emission transport.
